Do Jade Rollers really work?

All I've seen and heard for the last year in skincare is jade roller. I am the most sceptical person when it comes to investing in a trend. I hold off just to see if it can keep its popularity. It's almost like it was a competition between the trend and myself. Guess I caved!

So to those of you who've no idea what I am talking about jade and rose quartz rollers are the new fad. It's basically a tool which looks somewhat like a strange pizza roller made completely of a stone. In this case, jade. Jade is rumoured to be the stone of 'eternal youth'. So naturally I see why it's so alluring. We all want to look young, don't we? The jade roller isn't exactly a new discovery. It's been in existence from the 17th century or so in China. Pretty holistic and wellness-oriented, right?

While doing my usual research, I came across quite a few things that I didn't actually think the tool could do. I still don't. I will not believe that using it will contour your face. But there is something very soothing about using the jade roller to give your face a good massage. It reduces puffiness and is said to help in the drainage of lymphatic fluids. That I do believe in, sort of. A good 3-minutes long facial massage, especially if done right, is immensely helpful in the circulation of blood in your face as well as the lymphatic drainage. But mostly I don't find the time to do that regularly. I find introducing a tool for a facial massage like the jade roller makes it more doable. Why? Because if it's a part of my skincare routine there's lesser chances of me not following through. I usually keep my jade roller in the fridge so the stone is nice and cold and definitely refreshing. Great to wake you up if you need all the help to wake you up in the mornings. #notamorningperson

I am not entirely sure if the jade roller helps or not. I do enjoy the ritualistic aspect of it. It does help to de-puff my eyes but so did the cold spoon in the freezer trick I learnt in high school. But I do enjoy using the roller with a serum on my face before I get ready for bed. It gets me relaxed for bed and I've actually been able to sleep easier after a good face massage. Maybe I should also get the Gua Sha and use it alongside the roller so I can actually see a greater change? Oh, don't forget to clean the roller after each use - you don't want any breakouts or acne, do you?

If you've seen any changes due to these tools, will you let me know?

Cheers!
