Every time when a birthday of a loved one comes by, I scramble to look for a cake. Over the past few years, that has become my ritual for friends. This year I was home for my sister's 21st birthday, which naturally calls for a very special cake.
For the past few weeks, I've been gathering intel about the nice bakeries in town. Ever been in a position where you were spoiled for choice? That was what happened to me! I had to find one source whose choice in such matters I would trust without the need to second-guess. I racked my brains and then reached out to my cousin. Best choice ever!
So, I discovered Fresh Baked Goodness. I scrolled through their website and Instagram page and was mighty impressed. It took me 3 days to pick a cake out of their menu! It was quite a hard choice to make. Finally, we picked the Mylai Tiramisu and made an order. Since we live quite far away, I went into the city to pick up the cake.
The bakery shopfront in itself is pretty unassuming. I almost didn't notice it when we drove down the street. The display window inside had all kinds of yummy cakes and treats that I felt like a child from one of those Dickens novels. If I could have, I'd probably had sampled all the cakes there! But I reckon, I wouldn't have had the energy to leave then! Or been in a sugar-induced coma!
When I did see the cake, I was a little worried that it might be a little on the smaller side. Now, that we have completely demolished the cake, I realize that it was the perfect size! It's probably one of the most decadent cakes that I've tasted. It was so very creamy that it almost melted in your mouth!
If you're in Chennai and looking for a cake to buy, go ahead and try this! Don't balk at the price because it's so very worth it! I'm just waiting for someone else's birthday to come by, so I can taste some other cake on their menu!
