10 reasons to watch White Collar

There are a few shows I'd always watch over and over again. White Collar definitely makes the cut. Matt Bomer as Neal Caffrey is hands-down one of my favourite characters on TV. I have always been the girl who enjoys good con movies or shows, and this is a long con until the very end!

#1: Neal Caffrey

A suave, well-dressed criminal is somewhat of a treat to watch. I have always been a fan of a bad boy, especially one who knows how to dress and who's incredibly smart. Knowing art and culture is just another plus!

#2: Hats

Okay, those fedora-style hats that Neal wears are some of my favourite moments in the show. I am a huge hat collector and sincerely believe that they give even the most mundane of outfits a huge lift and make them sophisticated. If you wear hats and have a wardrobe that makes me want to take notice, we can be very good friends then!

#3: The Fed-Authorised Cons

I mostly like my rule-breaking to go under the radar. Lesser chances of getting caught and doing time, you know. But I will be completely on board if any rule-breaking is authorised by the Feds (or Scotland Yard). That'd be fun! I get so much amusement from watching the cons play out on the show and the shenanigans Neal pulls everyone into.

#4: Mozzie

Everyone should have a friend who spouts conspiracy theories and is just acceptably paranoid. You never know when you might need their help in a major way. Mozzie was that friend. He always had a Plan B, C and D in place whenever there was anything major happening. Who wouldn't love to have him around?

#5: The Peter & El love story

A dependable love story. That's what I like seeing. Enough breakups are happening in the world right now, I like seeing a couple that just works. No matter what. Peter being a Fed and then being quite involved in everything Neal should have been hard on the couple. But El being who she was and the strength of their commitment just made them stronger. Now that's the kind of magic I'm looking for.

#6: All of Sara's wardrobe

Honestly, I need that wardrobe. She is the best-dressed insurance investigator I know! Well, she's probably the only one I know and she's fictional. But everything she wears is so chic and drool-worthy! She's the epitome of elegance which is why she is one of my style inspirations when I want to wow a meeting.

#7: The NYC-ness of it all

NYC is one of my favourite cities. So, naturally, I tend to watch shows which are set in the city. To think of it, most of the shows I watch on repeat are set in New York. The energy of all things New York is palpable through the entire plot. One more reason to love the show, huh?

#8: The art involved

I love talking art - I think it's mostly due to my minor in Art History. Having a show where art is a key part of the narrative? Gimme more! Since Neal was a forger, he is quite an art connoisseur. Which makes it all the more interesting for those involved in the art world. You aren't? Then it's the perfect opportunity to learn.

#9: The brotherhood & friendship

What started off as the Agent & CI relationship grew into a friendship. There were the usual trust issues because well, Neal was a criminal. But you knew and he knew that when push came to shove, Peter would be there for him. That's what friendship is, after all.

#10: The finale

Finales are supposed to help you close the book. Seldom does it happen though. You usually have some thread that could still be pulled at. Well, this finale didn't give me that feeling. I still rewatch the show because I like the story, not because I'm unsatisfied with how it ended! The days of Neal running did finally come to an end.

Whenever I have no interest in watching anything from my #Netflix queues or when I want to watch a smart con, I watch White Collar and all is well with the world again!

Haven't watched it yet? Maybe you should! If you have, let me know what you think.

Cheers!
