One of the hardest things that I have had to periodically go through are probably my period cramps. Lots of women go through horribly painful periods. I have three things that do help me feel better and doesn't make me feel terror-stuck when the D-day rolls near! I don't know if these are universal, but they do make me feel better!
Placing a heated bag or pouch on the abdomen seems to help me deal better with the pain. This helps especially during bedtime.
Tea might be a cliche, but I swear it does wonders! Choose something like ginger infusions, chamomile, or orange! Also, tea just helps everything.
Have a stock of yogurt cups handy. There are times the cramps makes me too nauseous to eat which is when I reach for the yogurt. I don't really know why it helps me, but I figure it's the lactic acid.
