2017 Favourites

I love the process of going out and discovering new products. I find a huge satisfaction in finding new things that work for me. So, this is a list of things I've either discovered or rediscovered this year. 

I just recently rediscovered the Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation. I am the shade 9.0. It is usually just a tad darker for me than what I usually wear. But, it works beautifully now that I've tanned a bit this summer. The most important tip about this foundation is that you'd need to moisturize your skin really well. I've been wearing it pretty regularly ever since I've fallen in love with it again! Also, I look all bronzed up due to this shade--which is never a bad thing! 

Laura Mercier is one of my all-time favorite brands. They just work like magic for me! Of all their products I love their Caviar Sticks eye color. I'm obsessed with them! My current favorites are Steel and Burnished Bronze.They're super easy to wear and blend. Absolute win for the days I don't want to spend a lot of time on my makeup. 

I have two lip color favorites right now. My first is Tom Ford Lip Color Matte in Pussycat. Firstly, I love the name! Secondly, I love matte formulations. Tom Ford mattes are one of my favorites. They're very comfortable to wear and almost have a velvet-like finish on the lips. The color is just plain gorgeous. It's an everyday shade for me. A nice neutral pink nude shade that's very flattering. I usually stay away from nudes due to the reason they wash me out. But this one works like magic! My second favorite lip product is MAC Velvetease Lip Pencil in Lover's Lane. Again, I feel like I got this for the name (when I do my Lipsticks I have and Love post, you'd notice that I tend to do that a lot!) but I love the product too! I feel like if orange and red had a baby it'd be this shade! Even though it's a bright shade, it's very wearable! It's a matte finish which I love.

I have a love affair with MAC Eye Shadows that come in single pots. My most favorite right now is Suspiciously Sweet. It's a pretty light orange shade that can be worn alone if you do it right. I use my finger to apply it all over my eyelids so that it's a wash of color on my lids. Sometimes I like to apply a darker shade in the outer corner to smoke it out which works beautifully when you want to wear your makeup day to night.

I have a few favorite brushes brushes. I really believe that you'd need to have the right tools in order to really have exemplary results. I like the brush that comes with the Urban Decay Palettes especially when I'm doing my makeup on the go. Sephora Pro Liquid Foundation Brush (63) is my favorite to do my base with. I love the finish it gives to your makeup. I use it both to stipple and buff product in, depending on what I use. Real Techniques makes amazing brushes. My most used ones are Base Shadow Brush and Powder Brush. 

I have two favorites which are not beauty products. One is my new fragrance -- Illicit Flower by Jimmy Choo. It's very different from what I usually wear which is quite refreshing. It has both floral notes and woodsy notes, which just blend together so seamlessly that it is not overpowering in any way. I've been reaching for it more often than not this month! My other favorite is a nail color by Essie in the shade

. It's such a gorgeous, bright shade. So summery and it makes my hands look so much fairer--which for the sake of my vanity helps!

​So, these are the things I've loved through 2017. I loved going through my makeup collection and finding things I love! I'd love to keep account of what I love every month, but truthfully I don't change what I like much through the year! So, let me know if you want me to do my favourites!
