Let me tell you a secret to great makeup application and staying power. Primers. I know, I was a true skeptic about the benefit of using these products. It always seemed like an awful lot of work! I'm usually the girl who lives off lesser steps to her makeup process. But, I concede, Primers do make a big difference. I love how makeup applies with just this tiny step!
Sephora Beauty Amplifier and M.A.C. Pro Longwear Paint Pot in Painterfly are my go-to products before I apply any products on my eyes! The staying power of any product over it is plain amazing. One part of my makeup I really loved spending time on was eye makeup. Adding an eye primer just makes any color that you overlay actually pop, no matter what. Since a primer essentially removes any discoloration and pigmentation, the eyeshadow appears truer to its color which is always better!
Laura Mercier is hands down one of my favorite brand of makeup. It inhabits the top 5 of my makeup list! The Foundation Primer is one of my favorites mainly due to the formulation. It's a predominantly water based product so it doesn't feel tacky on the skin. This was one of the first primers I loved. I still love it especially on days I wear quite a bit of makeup! It makes my skin feel nice and moisturized in addition to making sure my makeup looks flawless.
Benefit The Porefessional is a cult favorite for a reason. It literally makes your pores and fines lines disappear. I usually tend to not like balm-like ultra mattifying products. But there's something so special about this particular product. It's worth the money that I spent on the full-sized one! I always pick the minis when I am at the checkout at Sephora. It's so helpful when you're doing your full face makeup on the go.
Benefit Girl Meets Pearl is another one of my favorites from the brand! I really think Benefit doesn't know to make a product that I might not like. I am aware that this isn't exactly a primer. But I seldom use a highlighter so using a highlighting product along with my normal primer under foundation makes a difference! This is an extremely gorgeous product. Its a pearly golden pink sheen. It creates an effortless highlight when its under my makeup so I can only imagine what it does when its used as a highlighter!
Make Up For Ever Skin Equalizer is another wonderful primer I reach for. It makes your skin smooth and evens the texture so it is the perfect base for any foundation! I always like to use this because it makes the entire process of applying foundation so much easier and effortless!
Dior Fix It Color is my favorite product for color correction! It's quite a recent addition. But I do like how much this helps to brighten my under eyes. It also serves as a great base for any concealer that I use! It's a 2-in-1 product that I am really thankful for!
