I'm the greatest fan of blush when it comes to makeup. For someone who can't visibly blush (no matter how much I'm embarrassed!), makeup as always comes to my rescue!
Christmas before last I splurged on Tarte Pin Up Girl Amazonian Clay 12-hour Blush Palette. Christmas gift sets are some of my most favorite buys as that's when exquisite deals crop up everywhere! This particular palette came with two really cute bobby pins which I can't seem to find anywhere! But, we aren't here to talk about those, are we? This palette retailed for $42. There is 0.158 oz each in the palette. When you buy an Amazonian Blush individually, you'd get 0.20 oz worth of product and it retails for $26 each. So doing simple math, this particular palette is a steal!
The shades are exclusive to this palette. Sorry, if you like the look of it and can't get hold of this now! But I have tried my best to give you alternatives that you could look at! From left to right, the shades are Breathless, Embraced, Whimsy, Bashful and Irreplaceable.
Breathless is a satin matte, beige shade with pink undertones. When you swatch it, it does come off as chalky, but it blends beautifully on application! It's lesser pigmented than the other shades too. The closest that I can find are Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed ($26) and NARS Blush in Madly ($30).
Embraced is a dusky, plum-rose shade in frosted finish. This is one of the shades I reach for a lot. It's the perfect blush for a night out. The added shimmer in it just makes it that much better according to me! The closest alternative in a permanent collection is M.A.C. Mineralize Blush in Gentle ($27).
Whimsy is a cool-toned light pink. It has a semi-matte finish with a soft powdery texture. Personally, it's one of those shades that could go horribly wrong for me if I'm careless! My pick for an alternative in a permanent collection would be M.A.C. Powder Blush in Lovecloud ($27).
Bashful is a rosy-peach shade which is my favorite from the palette! It's a medium-toned pink-coral with warm undertones. It has a soft sheen which is very beautiful indeed. It has a perfect color payoff and the texture is an absolute dream. I think M.A.C. Mineralize Blush in Petal Power is a perfect alternative. But, since it's a limited edition blush; NARS Blush in Deep Throat is an alternative too!
Irreplaceable is a medium-dark rosy pink that has warm undertones. It has a semi-matte finish with amazing color payoff. This is one of my winter time blushes. It's probably not something I really reach for during the rest of the year. The closest alternative I can come up with for this particular one is Too Faced Love Flush Long-Lasting 16-Hour Blush in Your Love is King ($26).
