The dilemma of whether or not I should try out yet another foundation is probably not one in the Top 10 of the world's issues! But, I think it's good when you reason out the pros and cons of a product before you make any final decision.
Over the last year, I've seen a lot of stick foundations hitting the shelves. Like every beauty enthusiast, I went forth and swatched all of them. But, contrary to always, I held back from actually buying any. Stick foundations always made me think of stage makeup -- cakey and just too much product! Since I'm a fan of the effortless makeup, I always steered clear of stick products. That worked till all the beauty brands reformulated their stick products to make them give a satiny, glowy finish!
Drugstores also have a few releases of the stick variety, even though there's a limited color spectrum -- which truthfully poses a challenge. Personally, I think the major problem I have with stick products is that you apply it directly onto your skin, which I don't really think is hygienic! That is the major qualm I have about getting onto the stick product bandwagon! Also, you end up paying quite a bit of money for lesser quantity, which might be a problem sometimes! Those are the only two problems that I've been able to see. The pluses do outweigh the minuses. They're travel friendly since they wouldn't possibly spill and ruin everything else! Stick foundations can double as concealers so you'd be able to use one product and be done with it. The compact packaging is also a huge plus. You can use a sponge, brush or fingers for the application.
Of all my research, depending on budget, finish and skin type, there literally is a stick foundation for everyone out there. I've got my eyes on Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation Stick ($46 for 0.31 oz), Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Foundation Stick ($46 for 0.25 oz), Anastasia Beverly Hills Stick Foundation ($25 for 0.32 oz), or Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Invisible Cover Stick Foundation ($43 for 0.44 oz) . I am aware that that is quite a huge list!
But, this would make my choice easier. Or I might end up buying two, so I can review it for you, which is most fun!
Cheers! Madhu x
