What I wear to an Indian Wedding

Wedding Season in India is one of my favorite times. Why? Well, mainly due to the fact that it gives you the chance to dress up and shop. There are few things that I think a wedding guest should have in her closet when the time to attend one comes near! I have a long-abiding love for silk sarees. I strongly believe you cannot go wrong wearing a silk saree for a wedding. There are so many types and colors of them that there is always room for choice. Make sure to get your blouse stitched in advance, and also do a trial run before you wear it to the wedding! If it's your first time wearing a saree, invest in a lot of safety pins, they're mighty handy to keep the look in place!

Needless to say, Indian weddings have the most mind-blowingly

awesome jewelry! This is yet another reason I am in love with the entire wedding scene in India. Sometimes, I just wear statement earrings, but more often than not I go for the full works-bangles, choker and earrings!

No matter what you choose to wear, always jazz it up with a pretty pair of shoes. I love my heels and wedges. So, more often than not, I would be pairing my attire with the highest pair of shoes I can find!

Accentuating your natural features with makeup is always necessary, especially at weddings. Since Indian wedding scenes are highly dramatic and vibrant, I think spending time to make your eyes look dramatic is a good way to go. Also, a bright lipstick never goes wrong!

I guess I'm quite a romantic when it comes to weddings. Even though I don't personally want to get married (so far!), it really makes me happy for any couple who take that step! Since I attend weddings of only those people who have an important part in my life, weddings are even more special. Also, weddings are just very fun celebrations! So, have some fun at the next one you go to!

Cheers! Madhu x
